About Us
The foundations of AKY Logistics date back to the 1930s, when Abdullah AKYILMAZ bought his first vehicle to start transport operations.
In 1957, this family profession, practised under the difficult conditions of the time, was handed over to the second generation, Mehmet AKYILMAZ. Carrying goods from Turkey to Middle Eastern countries such as Iraq, Iran and Kuwait, Mehmet AKYILMAZ continued in the 1980s together with the third generation, Çetin AKYILMAZ, who had grown up in the profession just like his father.
Transport operations carried out in cooperation with various companies until 1994 were officially institutionalised on Çetin AKYILMAZ’s initiative as a partnership under the name AKYILMAZ ULUS. TAŞ. LTD. ŞTİ. Besides being the first company to operate on the Europe – Balkans route, it made a name for itself everywhere and earned respect as the most important player in the sector thanks to its unique activities.
In 2017 the partnership structure changed and the company took the name AKY LOJİSTİK İTH. İHR. SAN. TİC. LTD. ŞTİ.; it continues its operations today with the fourth generation, Burkay AKYILMAZ, at the helm.
In 2018, the Georgian company AKY LOGISTICS LTD. was founded and vehicle investments were made in order to establish a strong presence in the Caucasus countries and to develop and strengthen cooperation there.
